The dial indicator is a relatively high precision comparison tool, it can only measure the relative value, can not measure the absolute value, mainly used to measure the shape and position error, can also be used for machine tools to install the workpiece when the precision correction. The accuracy of the dial indicator is 0.01mm. The structure of the dial indicator is shown in Fig. When the measuring rod 1 moves up or down 1mm, the large pointer 5 is driven by the gear transmission system, and the small pointer 7 is rotated. Dial on the circumference of 100 equal points, the grid of the reading value of 0.01mm. The small pointer is 1mm per grid. The amount of change in the pointer reading during measurement is the dimensional change. The dial can be rotated so that the gauge is aligned with the zero mark.
